Our Story
Two Tough Cleaners was founded on the principles of hard work, dedication, and a passion for serving the community. Our journey began with our owner, Marleny McDaniel, a native of Southern Illinois, who pursued a degree in Business Marketing at Tennessee State University. To support herself through college, Marleny worked as an in-home CNA, where she quickly noticed that many of her elderly clients needed housekeeping services. Wanting to make their lives easier, she began assisting them with cleaning—and soon realized the growing demand for reliable and professional cleaning services.
From Small Beginnings to Big Opportunities
As the need for quality cleaning grew, Marleny turned her passion into a business, initially focusing on residential cleaning. However, navigating a competitive market in a large city proved to be challenging, especially as the business was funded solely through her CNA job. Despite the obstacles, she remained committed to growing Two Tough Cleaners.
In the second year of business, a breakthrough came—Marleny secured her first major contract with Circle K gas stations for post-construction cleaning. This opportunity led to additional janitorial cleaning contracts, and from there, the service list expanded to include commercial cleaning, pressure washing, and laundry services. What started as a small residential cleaning company quickly grew into a trusted cleaning service provider for homes and businesses across Middle Tennessee.
